Construction of Internal Roads in Al Ramla, Al Nefa, Al Muslla and Al Muhazab in Umm Al Quwain

Project Brief

The Internal Roads Programme in Al Ramla, Al Nifa, Al Musalla and Al Muhazab, Umm Al Quwain was a major government-led infrastructure upgrade initiated by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI) to improve connectivity between local communities and adjacent highways.

The project involved the rehabilitation of existing internal roads and construction of new roads across multiple districts, and successfully eliminated the excavation and replacement of more than 1 m of weak Sabkha soils, a major unanticipated challenge that was not identified during the original design stage.
